Definition: Historian, head of the inspection for the protection of monuments at the Ministry of Culture of the GSSR, member of the Initiative Group for the Protection of Human Rights in Georgia (October 14, 1976). Member of the Group for Assistance to the Implementation of the Helsinki Agreements in Georgia, formed in January 1977, consisting of B. Bezhuashvili, Z. Gamsakhurdia, brothers Grigory and Isai Goldstein, T. Dzhanelidze and V. Rtskhiladze.

Arrested on January 21, 1977. Sentenced by the Supreme Court of the GSSR on 09/06/1978 under Article 71 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the GSSR to 2 years and 6 months probation, and 2 years of exile. On December 20, 1978, the reference was excluded from the verdict.
