In May 1982, he was arrested on grossly fabricated charges of “assault on a government official.” Investigators openly said that the case was opened on orders from above to put pressure on his convicted daughter Marine and her friends. Sentenced to 3 years in prison. The daughter went on a hunger strike until her father was released. Released by decision of the cassation court, sentenced to probation.
