Andreev Fedor Konstantinovich (Father Theodore)

Definition: Priest of the Orthodox Russian Church; archpriest, theologian. One of the main ideologists of the Josephite movement in Leningrad in the late 1920s, the author of the main program texts of the Josephites.

Genus. in 1887 in St. Petersburg; Russian. He graduated from the 3rd Real School in St. Petersburg and studied at the Institute of Civil Engineers (1905-1908). He graduated from the Moscow Theological Seminary (1909; as an external student), and the Moscow Theological Academy with a candidate's degree in theology. Since 1913 - corrective position of associate professor in the department of systematic philosophy and logic of the Moscow Theological Academy. In 1919 he returned to Petrograd. He taught at the Mikhailovsky School. In 1920-1923 - Professor of the Petrograd Theological Institute in the department of Christian apologetics. He was ordained to the rank of deacon on December 17, 1922, and to the priesthood on December 19, 1922. He served in the Kazan Cathedral until the summer of 1923. Since the autumn of 1923, he was a junior priest of the Sergius Cathedral. Lived in Leningrad, st. Zhukovskogo 63/21a, apt. 7. Arrested on July 14, 1927 by the OGPU PP in the Leningrad Military District, accused under Art. 58-10 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR (c/r agitation). 08/31/1927 released on his own recognizance. By resolution of November 10, 1927, the case was terminated. He died on May 23, 1929 in Leningrad.
