Born October 18, 1900 in the city of Rzhev, Tver Governorate, in the family of a clerk; Jewish. Higher education: graduated from the shipbuilding faculty of the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute in 1926, worked in the submarine design bureau of the Baltic Shipyard. In 1928 he was sent to Germany, then at the Baltic Shipyard until 1931 he was the head of the restoration project for an English submarine. In 1936 - authorized representative of the Main Marine Industry in Italy and oversaw the construction of ships ordered for the Soviet Navy. In 1937 he was appointed head of the shipbuilding department of the 2nd Main Directorate of the People's Commissariat of the Defense Industry. Lived in Leningrad (Fontanka River Embankment, Bldg. 30, Apt. 3). Arrested on April 23, 1938. Convicted on May 29, 1940 by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR under Art. 58-6, 58-7 and 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 10 years of imprisonment. In prison, a specialist of the OKB-196 NKVD. Laureate of the second Stalin Prize, released early in 1946. Died in 1965 in Leningrad.
