Born in 1887 in Pskov; nobleman; graduated from military school in 1907, officer of the Life Guards 1st Artillery Brigade. Participant in World War I: senior adjutant and chief of staff of the 9th Siberian Rifle Division, senior adjutant of the operations department of the headquarters of the Petrograd Military District. Graduated from the Nikolaev Military Academy in 1917. From the fall of 1918 he served in the Red Army: head of various departments of the Air Defense Staff, from November 1919 - chief of the headquarters department of the 7th Army, from February 1920 - chief of staff of the 7th Army, assistant chief and chief of staff of the district. On March 2, 1921, he was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the Kronstadt mutiny, and was released the next day. He taught at the Higher Rifle and Pedagogical Schools. From 1922 he served as Chief of Staff of the Petrograd Military District, from 1925 he taught at the Tolmachev Military-Political Academy. On 06.01.1931 he was arrested in the "Spring" group case. On 20.05.1931 he was sentenced.   Collegium of the OGPU on   Article 58-10, 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 3 years in a labor camp. Arrived at Ukhtpechlag on 18.07.1931. Released on 08.07.1933, returned to Leningrad. Headed the military department of one of the universities. In March 1935, he was exiled from Leningrad to the Saratov region for 5 years. Worked as an assistant to the military instructor at the Saratov Medical Institute. Arrested in the fall of 1937, sentenced to capital punishment on 29.11.1937 and shot.
