Kuzmin Dmitry Mikhailovich
Born in 1887 in St. Petersburg, in the family of a 2nd guild merchant; Russian; no name; graduated from high school (1907) and the Vladimir Military School in St. Petersburg (1910). Served in the rank of second lieutenant from 1910 to January 1918. Enrolled as an auditor at the Archaeological Institute, graduating in 1914. In February-October 1918 - editor of the Moscow government wire of the PTA. From November 1918 - in the Red Army: chief of the combat department of the Leningrad Military District, assistant to the chief of staff of the Leningrad Fortified Region, chief of supplies of the 1st Border Division, academic secretary of the military-historical naval commission, head of the 2nd year of the naval engineering school. Arrested in 1921, released three weeks later. In 1924 he was demobilized, worked as a research associate at the Leningrad Regional Archive. Curator of the historical photo archive and member of the expert commission of the regional Archive Administration, before his arrest he was the head of the photography club of the Rakov Club. Lived in Leningrad, Proletarsky Lane, Bldg. 7, Apt. 16. Arrested on March 4, 1938, accused of "being a member of the anti-Soviet organization "ROVS", conducting anti-Soviet agitation and collecting espionage information". Sentenced by the Commission of the NKVD and the Prosecutor's Office of the USSR on August 28, 1938 under Article 58-6-8-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to capital punishment. Shot in Leningrad on September 6, 1938. Rehabilitated by the military tribunal of the Leningrad Military District on September 30, 1965.
On October 30, 2016, a personal memorial sign was installed on house No. 7 on Grafsky Lane in St. Petersburg in memory of D.M. Kuzmin as part of the Last Address project.
