Born in 1881. Graduated from the Pavlovsk Military School in 1900. Colonel of the Life Guards Izmailovsky Regiment. Participant in World War I. Wounded in early September 1914, unable to return to the front due to the consequences of the wound. In 1915 he was a senior officer for assignments at the Tsarskoye Selo special evacuation point, and in 1916 he was assistant to the head of this point. After the 1917 revolution, he remained in Russia. In the 1920s he was an employee of the military department of the Central Archives, in 1923 he taught, and in 1924-1931 he was an archivist at the Leningrad Central Historical Archives. He was repressed in 1931 in the "Spring" case. He emigrated to Germany.
