Genus. in 1897. Graduated from the Kyiv (1916) and Moscow (1929) conservatories. In the 1930s He taught at the Moscow Conservatory, worked as a conductor of the Moscow concert ensemble "Persimfans", and directed the Mosgorkino Small Symphony Orchestra. During the Great Patriotic War, he joined the people's militia. He organized a military orchestra and became a bandmaster at the 1st Infantry Regiment of the 8th Division of the Krasnopresnensky District. Near Yelnya, the regiment was surrounded. After escaping, he returned to the front. Arrested in 1943. Sentenced by the Kursk region military service to 10 years in labor camp with disqualification for 5 years. At the end of 1943 he arrived in Vorkutlag. He entered the camp Vorkuta Musical and Drama Theater as a conductor, where he also acted as a director (opera "Faust") and composer (performances "Sunny House", "Grooms", "Dog in the Manger", "Gadfly", "Don Cesar de Bazan" , “Cinderella”, “The Scarlet Flower”, “The Snow Queen”, etc.). Author of music for the songs "Shakhterskaya" and "Song of the Miner" (1948). Organized series of musical lectures. In 1951 he was released early without the right to leave Vorkuta. In 1952, after his criminal record was cleared, he moved to Syktyvkar. In 1958 he was rehabilitated and moved to Moscow. He wrote music, participated in the work of the Section of Culture and Art at the Society for the Dissemination of Political and Scientific Knowledge of the RSFSR. Died in 1991 in Moscow.
