In 1927-1930 military attaché in Afghanistan and Japan. In 1931-1933. commanded the corps. In 1933-1935. Deputy Commander of the North Caucasus Military District, Deputy Inspector of Higher Military Educational Institutions. Since 1935, deputy commander of the Leningrad Military District. Awarded 3 Orders of the Red Banner. Arrested on August 14, 1936. He gave testimony based on which many commanders and commissars were later arrested. Pleaded guilty to participating in an anti-Soviet, Trotskyist, military-fascist conspiracy. Together with M. N. Tukhachevsky, I. E. Yakir, I. P. Uborevich, by the special presence of the Supreme Court of the USSR, he was sentenced to death on June 11, 1937. Shot. In 1957 he was rehabilitated.
