Genus. in 1925, lived with his parents in Moscow. At the end of 1937, the entire Pyatnitsky family was arrested. Father and eldest tenth grade son - Igor in 1937, wife and Vladimir himself, a sixth grade student - in 1938. He was only 13 years old then. For several months, Vladimir was kept in the NKVD children's detention center in the St. Danilovsky Monastery, then sent to the Kropotkinsk (Kuban) colony for juvenile delinquents, from where he soon escaped, was detained in Armavir and sent to an orphanage in the village of Voznesenskaya. Since 1943 he took part in the Great Patriotic War.
