Genus. in 1913 in the village Kabanye Kabanye volost of the Shadrinsky district of the Perm province (now in the territory of the Shadrinsky district of the Kurgan region). Member of the CPSU (b) since 1943. After the outbreak of war, he was sent to work in the NKVD. He studied at the Higher School of the NKVD of the USSR, then was on investigative work in the NKVD PA - OKR SMERSH of the Arkhangelsk Military District: investigator, senior investigator of the 4th department of the NKVD PA in the Arkhangelsk Military District, from 05/21/1943 - deputy chief, from 01/17/1944 to 15.12. 1944 - head of the 4th (investigative) department of the SMERSH ROC of the Arkhangelsk Military District. From 12/15/1944 to 03/23/1945 - Head of the 4th (investigative) department of the SMERSH OKR Belomorsk Military District. Then he was transferred to the central office of the GUKR SMERSH (then the USSR MGB). He rose to prominence thanks to the “Doctors’ Plot.” On July 2, 1951, at the request of assistant D.N. Sukhanov (assistant G.M. Malenkov), he sent a statement addressed to I.V. Stalin, in which he accused the USSR Minister of State Security V.S. Abakumov of concealing important materials. Abakumov was arrested, and dozens of MGB officers were also arrested. July 10 - October 19, 1951 - Acting Head of the Investigative Unit for Particularly Important Cases of the USSR Ministry of State Security.10.19.1951 - 11.13.1952 - Head of the Investigative Unit for Particularly Important Cases of the USSR Ministry of State Security. 10.19..1951 appointed Deputy Minister of State Security of the USSR and a member of the MGB Board, while simultaneously maintaining the post of head of the MGB investigative unit for particularly important cases. In 1952, on the instructions of Stalin, he conducted the “Mingrelian affair”. Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the USSR dated November 13, 1952. suspended from work in the MGB and sent to the disposal of the CPSU Central Committee for failure to solve the “Abakumov case” and the “doctors’ case.” November 14, 1952 appointed senior controller of the USSR Ministry of State Control (for the Ministry of Finance and the State Staff Commission). 03/17/1953, after the death of Stalin, he was arrested and kept in Lefortovo prison. During interrogations, he denied enemy activity and readily admitted individual mistakes. He expressed a desire to work in any position where the Party sends him. On July 7, 1954, he was sentenced to capital punishment by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR with confiscation of property. On July 22, 1954 he was shot. Not rehabilitated.
