He did not graduate from either educational institution.
In 1965 - 1976 - participant and organizer of informal art exhibitions. Wrote in Samizdat.
Since 1969, he began to independently engage in drawing and painting, and organized apartment discussions on the problems of contemporary art. In 1974 he was one of the leaders of the exhibition at the Palace of Culture. Gaza. 1974 On September 29, he made a strong impression at the 2nd autumn viewing of paintings “in the open air” in the Izmailovo forest park, Moscow. He was a member of the initiative group for negotiations with the administration on the provision of exhibitions. 1975 May exhibited works at an unauthorized "plein air" exhibition. After this, he was suspended from participation in the exhibition of the Nevsky Palace of Culture, showing his canvases only at apartment exhibitions. In 1976 he emigrated to the USA, and since 1977 he lived in New York. Since 1988 he returned to Moscow. Died in 2000
