philosophy, director of the A.M. Gorky Institute of World Literature. Lived in Moscow, Lavrushinsky per., bldg. 17, apt. 13. Arrested in February 1941. Sentenced by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR to capital punishment. From 10/29/1941 he was held in the death cell of the Saratov prison. In July 1942, by decision of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, the capital punishment was replaced by 20 years in a correctional labor camp. Transferred to a general cell, then sent to the Mordovian camps.   He died in prison on May 26, 1943. He was rehabilitated by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR on May 26, 1956.
