Genus. in 1905 in St. Petersburg; from nobles; graduated from the Tenishev School, unfinished higher education - studied at the Leningrad State University at the Faculty of History and Philology; b/p. In 1930 he lived in Leningrad, a participant in the medieval seminary of I.M. Grevs at the University (1924), excursion seminars in Detskoye Selo in the 1920s; member of the "circle of medievalists", secretary of the bibliographic commission of the Central Bureau of Local Lore. He was expelled from his last year at the university and arrested on 07/17/1930 in the case of "local historians" for his connection with the Solovetsky bishops. He pleaded not guilty. Sentenced by OS KOGPU on 05/20/1931 under Art. 58 to 3 years in a concentration camp. He served his term in Ukhtpechlage, where he became a professional geologist. 08/23/1931 Released from custody by the Collegium of the OGPU, the case was dismissed. Since 1933, he worked as a civilian on the construction of the Moscow-Volga canal as a specialist in engineering geology. From 1936-1937 he was engaged in engineering and geological research in Kazan. In 1939 he was fired as a former prisoner. After the war, he was expelled from Kazan, where his family remained, he worked in Gorodets (on the Volga) and in other places, since 1948 - in Kharkov. He retired due to disability due to loss of vision in 1957. He died in 1982. He was rehabilitated by the Prosecutor's Office of Leningrad on September 29, 1989.
