Born in 1905 in St. Petersburg; from the nobility; graduated from the Tenishev School, incomplete higher education - studied at the Leningrad State University in the history and philology department; no name. In 1930 he lived in Leningrad, V.O., 9th line, bldg. 34, apt. 35. Participant in the medievalist seminary of I.M. Grevs at the university (1924), excursionist seminars in Detskoye Selo in the 1920s; participant in the "circle of medievalists", secretary of the bibliographic commission of the Central Bureau of Local History. Expelled from his final year at the university and arrested on 17.07.1930 in the case of "local historians" for connections with the Solovetsky bishops. He did not plead guilty. Sentenced by the OS KOGPU on 20.05.1931 under Art. 58 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 3 years in a concentration camp. In prison, he was in Ukhta Peshchag, where he became a professional geologist. On August 23, 1931, he was released from custody by the OGPU Collegium, the case was closed. Since 1933, he worked as a civilian employee on the construction of the Moscow-Volga Canal as a specialist in engineering geology. From 1936-1937 he was engaged in engineering and geological research in Kazan. In 1939, he was dismissed as a former prisoner. After the war, he was expelled from Kazan, where his family remained, worked in Gorodets (on the Volga) and other places, and since 1948 - in Kharkov. By the Resolution of the General Assembly of the NKVD of the USSR on January 15, 1944, the conviction was expunged. He retired due to disability due to loss of sight in 1957. He died in 1982. He was rehabilitated by the Leningrad Prosecutor's Office on September 29, 1989.
