Genus. in 1887 in the village. Yartsevo, Smolensk province; Russian; higher education - graduated from Moscow University in 1910. Doctor of Mathematical Sciences, astronomer. In 1915–1936 he worked at the Pulkovo Observatory, from 1932 - deputy director for scientific affairs. Arrested 12/04/1936. Sentenced by a visiting session of the Supreme Commissariat of the USSR Armed Forces on May 25, 1937 to 10 years in prison. In 1938 - a prisoner in the Vologda prison. Sentenced by the troika of the NKVD in the Vologda region. 01/17/1938 to VMN. Shot on June 18, 1938. Rehabilitated in the case of 1936 on December 3, 1957, in the case of 1938 - by the prosecutor's office of the Vologda region. 04/06/1990.
