Born in 1894 in Orenburg; Russian; no name. Graduated from St. Petersburg University (1916). From 1918 an employee of the Leningrad Physicotechnical Institute. From 1919 he taught at Leningrad University (since 1928 - professor). In 1938 he lived at the address: Leningrad, 10th line of V.O., bldg. 47, apt. 2. Arrested on 02/04/1938. Sentenced by the Special Special Section of the NKVD of the USSR on 02/09/1938 to 5 years in a correctional labor camp. By the resolution of the Special Special Section of the NKVD of the USSR dated 12/08/1942, he was released from custody. Professor of the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute (since 1945). Since 1943, head of the Physics Department of the Radium Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Rehabilitated under the Law of the RSFSR of 18.10.1991.
