Witt Alexander Adolfovich
Genus. in 1902 in a family of Russian Germans. In 1920 he entered the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Moscow State University. At the same time he studied at the Higher Aerophotogrammetric School of the Red Air Fleet and served in the Red Army. After graduating from Moscow State University in 1924, he entered graduate school. In February 1931 he became a research fellow at the Research Institute of Physics of Moscow State University and later that year - an associate professor. In 1934, for great scientific achievements, he was elected a full member of the Research Institute of Physics of Moscow State University. In 1935, he was awarded the academic degree of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and became a professor at the Department of Oscillation Physics at Moscow State University. Arrested 05/23/1937. Sentenced on 07/04/1937 OSO under the NKVD under Art. 58 to five years of labor camp. He died shortly thereafter in a camp in Kolyma and was rehabilitated in 1957.
