Genus. in 1937 in the village. Novo-Alexandrovka, Krasnoarmeysky district, Stalin region; Ukrainian; member of the Komsomol; student of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Kyiv University. Lived in the village. Monastery in Cherkasy region. Arrested 10/15/1956. Sentenced by the Kyiv Regional Court on April 8, 1957 under Art. 58-10 part 1 to 6 years of labor camp. Conveyed to the KGB internal prison in Saransk, MASSR. 02/03/1958 sentenced by the Supreme Soviet of the MASSR under Art. 58-10 part 1, 58-11, 59-2 part 2 for organizing a strike of Dubrovlag prisoners to 10 years in prison with repayment of the unserved term under the previous sentence. Released in 1967. In 1971, arrested in Kyiv for speaking at the monument to T.G. Shevchenko, judged under Art. 62 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR, declared insane, sent for compulsory treatment, until 1982 he was kept in special mental hospitals. Rehabilitated on August 12, 1992. Since the second half of the 1980s, he was the initiator of the creation of the Green World association, the Ukrainian Memorial, a member of the initiative group for the creation of the People's Movement of Ukraine (NRU), a member of the organizing committee for the preparation of the 1st Congress of the NRU, a member of the Great Rada. In May 1990, as part of a group of five people, he took the initiative to convene the Ukrainian Inter-Party Assembly. At the 1st session of the Assembly he was elected chairman of the executive committee. Since December 1990 - Chairman of the Political Abstracts Department of the UMA (since 1991 - UNA). In July 1991, he was arrested and was under investigation for a month and a half on charges of organizing mass actions in Kyiv during the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine discussing a draft of a new union treaty. Since December 1998, Chairman of the Kyiv city organization "Pravo". Lived in Kyiv. Died 02/05/2000.
