Paulaitis Petras son of Kazys
Born in 1904 in the farm Kalnėnių, Jurbarkas district , Lithuania; Lithuanian; higher education, studied in Rome, PhD. In 1941-1944 he was a Latin teacher at the Jurbarkas Gymnasium, leader of the anti-German Resistance. In 1944-1946 he was the leader of the local underground cell of the Union for the Struggle for Lithuanian Freedom (LLKS), editor of the underground newspaper of the Union "To Freedom". Arrested in 1946. Sentenced to 25 years in prison. Released in 1956. Lived in Noareikyan, Šiauliai district Lithuanian SSR. Arrested on 30.10.1957 by decision of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR to reinstate the 1946 sentence. Sentenced on 12.04.1958 by the Supreme Court of the Lithuanian SSR under Art. 58-10, Part 1, 58-11 (accused of attempting to revive "LLKS" while at liberty) to 25 years in a labor camp, with the unserved portion of the 1946 sentence taken into account. Imprisoned in Dubravlag. Released on 30.10.1982.
