Pilipenko Boris Kuzmich
Ukrainian ethnographer, art critic and artist
Born 07/16/1892 in Chernigov; Ukrainian; higher education; non-partisan. Graduated from the Faculty of Law of Kyiv University (1918). Since 1912 he took part in the arts. exhibitions. In the beginning. 1920s, organizer of the Chernigov Ethnographic Museum, head of the ethnographic section of the Chernigov Scientific Society. Since 1926 in Kharkov, researcher at the All-Ukrainian Museum. Artem, defended his dissertation (1928). At the same time he headed the Kharkov branch of the Association of Artists of Red Ukraine. Since the spring of 1929, a researcher at the All-Ukrainian Historical Museum. Shevchenko in Kyiv. Arrested on 02/25/1933 in the case of the “Ukrainian Military Organization”, due to lack of proof of the charges, released on 05/11/1934 on his own recognizance. Arrested for the second time on April 20, 1935. Sentenced on 02/14/1936 by the Military Tribunal of the Kyiv Military District under Art. 54-2, 8, 11 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR to 7 years of labor camp. In custody on Solovki. By resolution of the Special Troika of the UNKVD LO dated 10/09/1937 he was sentenced to VMN. Shot on November 3, 1937 in the Sandormokh tract (Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic).
