Balash Joseph Ivanovich
Genus. in 1894 in the village. Chekhograd, Melitopol district, Ukrainian SSR; Czech; from peasants; lower education; individual peasant; non-partisan. He served in the consolidated guards regiment of Wrangel's army. Previously he was sentenced under Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR to 6 months of forced labor. Before his second arrest, he lived in the village. Chekhograd. Arrested on December 16, 1930 by the Melitopol regional department of the GPU, accused of “c/r activities and espionage in favor of Czechoslovakia.” Sentenced by the emergency session of the Supreme Court of the Ukrainian SSR on June 14, 1931 under Art. 54-6, 11 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR to 10 years in labor camp. Imprisoned in the Solovetsky camp. By a resolution of the Special Troika of the UNKVD LO dated 10/14/1937 he was sentenced to VMN. Shot on November 1, 1937 in the Sandormokh tract (Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic). Rehabilitated by the resolution of the Plenum of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR dated November 28, 1964.
