Strashkevich Vladimir Mikhailovich
Genus. in 1875 in the village. Vishnevichi of the Kyiv province. He graduated from the St. Petersburg Theological Academy and the Archaeological Institute. Since 1900, he taught history, Latin, and then Ukrainian languages in Kyiv gymnasiums. Member of the "Old Community". Worked at the publishing house "Vek". Published in the Literary-Scientific Bulletin and a number of Kyiv magazines and newspapers. (under the pseudonym V. Potochny). During the UNR, he served as vice-director of the department of the Ministry of Religions. In the first half of the 1920s, he was an employee of the historical section of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. In 1925-1928 - teacher of Ukrainian language for employees. Since 1926, he was a member-editor of the socio-economic department of the Institute of Ukrainian Scientific Language of the VUAS, and was also the chairman of the planning and methodological commissions of the Institute. Arrested in the case of "Spilki liberation of Ukraine" ("Union for the Liberation of Ukraine"). Sentenced to deportation from Ukraine for 3 years without deprivation of rights. He served his sentence in Voronezh, where he taught Latin. From 1944 to 1961 - teacher of Ukrainian and Latin languages at the Vinnitsa Pedagogical Institute. Rehabilitated in 1989
