Hostile-Shtanko Vasily Yakovlevich
Ukrainian writer and translator.
Genus. in 1903 in places. Oposhnya, Zenkovsky district, Poltava province; Ukrainian; from peasants; incomplete higher education, agronomist; non-partisan. Studied at agronomy school (did not graduate). Published since 1923. Member of the lit. associations “Plow”, then VAPLITE, then “Prolitfront”. Before his arrest, he lived in Kharkov (Pisateley St., 5, apt. 54). Arrested on December 25, 1934 in the case of the Borotbist k/r organization. Sentenced on March 28, 1935 by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR under Art. 54-8, 11 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR to 10 years in labor camp. While imprisoned in Solovki, he was on a business trip to Isakovo. By resolution of the Special Troika of the UNKVD LO dated November 25, 1937, he was sentenced to VMN. Shot on December 8, 1937 in Leningrad. Rehabilitated 02/04/1956 by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the Ukrainian SSR.
