Epik Grigory Danilovich
Genus. 04(17.) 01.1901 in the village. Kamenka, Ekaterinoslav province; Ukrainian (according to other sources, Jew); from workers; higher education, writer; member of the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) of Ukraine since 1920. Graduated from the Kamensk National School, railway worker. workshops in Ekaterinoslav. In 1918–1919 took part in the workers' uprising against Petliura's troops. He joined the Bolshevik Party. In the early 1920s in Poltava: instructor of political education, secretary and chairman of the district executive committee, then secretary of the Komsomol provincial committee. Subsequently he lived in Kharkov. Published since 1923. Member of the Union of Peasant Writers “Plow”, was a member of the literary association VAPLITE. In 1924–1926 - editor-in-chief of the publishing house "Red Path" and the State Publishing House of Fiction of Ukraine. He studied at the Kharkov Institute of Red Professors (1925–1929). Since 1933 at literary work. In June 1934 he was expelled from the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) of Ukraine. Arrested on December 5, 1934 in the case of the Borotbist counter-revolutionary organization. Sentenced on March 28, 1935 by a visiting session of the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR in Kiev under Art. 54-8, 11 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR to 10 years in labor camp. In custody on Solovki, he was kept at the Kremlin camp. By resolution of the Special Troika of the UNKVD LO dated 10/09/1937 he was sentenced to VMN. Shot on November 3, 1937 in the Sandormokh tract (Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic). Rehabilitated in the 1935 case on 08/04/1956 by the ruling of the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR.
